Important Note

Specimen must arrive at the testing laboratory within 24 hours of draw. Specimen can only be drawn Monday through Thursday, they will not be accepted on weekends or holidays.

If delivery cannot occur withIN 24 hours, plasma must be separated from cells within 24 hours of collection and frozen immediately at -20° C or lower.

Methodology

Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)

Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive at the testing laboratory within 24 hours of draw. Specimen can only be drawn Monday through Thursday, they will not be accepted on weekends or holidays.

 

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Preferred:

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: EDTA (Lavender top)

Specimen Volume: 3 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 ml

Collection Instructions: Draw Monday through Thursday only.

 

Alternate:

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: EDTA (Lavender top)

Specimen Volume: 3 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions: Draw Monday through Thursday only. If delivery cannot occur within 24 hours, spin down and separate plasma from cells within 24 hours of collection. Freeze immediately at -20° C and send on dry ice.
