Specimen Requirements

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Preferred:

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Light-green top (lithium heparin gel)

 

Specimen Volume: 1 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.2 mL

Additional Information: Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Container/Tube: Serum gel

Specimen Volume: 1 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.2 mL

Specimen Transport Temperature

Aliquot if not tested within 24 hours.

1.  Stable for 2 days refrigerated.

2. If not tested within 2 days, specimen should be frozen.  

Repeated freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided and specimen mixed thoroughly after thawing.
