Oximetry
Specimen Requirements
Deliver specimen immediately to laboratory for testing. Run test immediately after draw.
Specimen Type: Lithium heparin whole blood
Container/Tube: Dark-green top (lithium heparin) or a lithium heparin, blood gas syringe
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.25 mL
Collection Instructions: If sending in syringe, remove needle, express air bubbles, and cap with rubber stopper.
Additional Information: Label specimen appropriately (lithium heparin whole blood).

Ambient 30 minutes/Refrigerate 2 hours OK/Frozen NO
