Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Additional Information:
1. Specimen cannot be frozen.
2. EDTA whole blood is preferred; ACD, CPD, CPDA-1, heparinized, potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride, or sodium citrate whole blood is acceptable.
3. Include recent transfusion information.
