Nursing station will give patient 1 mg of Dexamethasone to be taken at 11 p.m.

Patient will arrive in laboratory in a.m.

DRAW CORTISOL ON PATIENT AT 8 a.m.

Specimen Type: Serum

Container/Tube: Serum gel

Specimen Volume: 1 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.15 mL

Spin down, separate and aliquot within 8 hrs of draw.

Specimen Transport Temperature

Refrigerate 5 days/Ambient 8 hours OK/Frozen OK
