Important Note

Ship specimens using Synovasure  KIT or equivalent collection tubes on the same day as collection to prevent specimen compromise.

Specimen may be rejected if not submitted using supplies outlined  from collection instructions.

 

Monday – Friday

- Collect and ship same day as aspiration. Store at an ambient

temperature.

 

Saturday – Sunday

- Collect specimen and store in refrigeration (2-8°C). Ship on Monday.

Specimen Requirements

　

2- 2 mL Clear top Red Stopper and 1 Purple top EDTA tubes from Synovasure Kit.

- Aspirate joint using standard technique*

-Verify tubes are within expiration date.

-Transfer fluid to tubes. Specimen volume and tube detail

requirements listed on reverse side.

*Ensure that specimen is not diluted at time of aspiration by saline

lavage, contrast, blood or other non-synovial fluids.
